One of our main objectives is to promote comprehensive training in undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Health Sciences, both nationally and internationally.
Committed to Veterinary Research
We want to produce and transmit truthful information to the media, social networks, health authorities, health professionals and the public about the extent of animal parasitic diseases and the risks associated with them, especially in the case of zoonotic diseases.

The ICPVet group of the Complutense University of Madrid has achieved the first report of autochthonous infection of a wildcat with Leishmania tropica in the Iberian Peninsula. The research has been published in the journal Transboundary and Emerging Diseases (29 August 2024).

Microbial Matryoshka: Scientists of the ICPVet group analyze endosymbiont viruses of the Totiviridae family that modify the pathogenicity of several protozoan parasites of medical relevance. The study has been published in the journal Veterinary Sciences (17 July 2024).
